Merger Announcement
March 3, 2008
There have been some exciting and reporting achievements accomplished by the Brewster Center. I would like this opportunity to share the success story with you.
The boards of directors from the Tucson centers for women and children as well as the Brewster Center for domestic violence services agreed to merge the service portfolio of the organizations and collaborate their strengths to further facilitate and improve the community. The merger decision took place in early February. In addition to this milestone, the Brewster Center Board of Directors voted to appoint me as the Interim Executive Director of the Brewster Center.
The merger will be able to accomplish the following goals:
Creation of a true one-stop shop that facilitates violence victims and provides to them a plethora of services. Some of the service offerings will be in the shape and form of emergency shelter, counseling and support, prevention education, long-term housing, job training, and child care services.
Effective advocacy on all levels regarding the vision of the organization. One voice on all local, state and national platforms.
Increase the amount of people that can be touched and assisted.
Our goal is to have this merger completed by July 1, 2008.
Currently, both organizations are both heavily involved in gathering the feedback from respective donors, employees and board members. The feedback will assist and guide in creating a conducive organization that caters to the needs of the domestic violence survivors in our community.
I want to take this opportunity to thank all of you for your long-standing commitment with the organizations and its mission. We value and appreciate your partnership as we move forward together.

In 1953 Atlanta Braves moved to Milwaukee and were regarded as Milwaukee Braves. However, after playing 13 years fabulously for Milwaukee, the team moved to Atlanta and earned its present name. During a course of 1991-2005, Atlanta Braves Tickets were amongst the most successful names in baseball. It is the only team to have won their division title for unprecedented 14 consecutive times.
