Jobs Community Educator
Starting Salary $12.50 Per Hour (Base Salary $12.00 + $.50 Language Differential)
Full Time: 40 hours per week

Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum Educational Requirement is an Associate's Degree. Minimum work experience is of 2 years with relevant experience in the social service industry.
Additional related work experience may substitute for education requirements.
Good public speaker that has the ability to train others.
Excellent communication skills.
Well organized and self-motivated.
Ability to work as a team lead and also deliver as an individual.

Valid driver's license, automobile insurance and reliable transportation is a must.
Ability to obtain a fingerprint clearance.
Bilingual (Spanish/English) required.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience providing training/presentations on the subject of domestic violence.

Duties: The Community Educator will be working directly under the supervision of the Community Education and Volunteer Coordinator.
Participate in all the major training sessions and able to present all the components of the Brewster Center's 32 hour curriculum.
Ability to present to the public and educate the masses.
Act as a representative of the Brewster Center at different special events, job fairs and community forums.

Data entry of information collected by evaluation surveys distributed at trainings and presentations.
Prepare monthly report on community education activities with the assistance of the Volunteer & Community Education Coordinator.
Remain up to date on all domestic violence activity and collateral.
Attend staff meetings and trainings as necessary.
Ability to perform additional duties assigned.
