Mission:

The mission of the Brewster Center Domestic Violence Services is to provide safer options and support to all victims/survivors of domestic violence through individual empowerment, advocacy, shelter, prevention, community education and social change.

Vision:

The vision of the Brewster Center is of a non-violent global community where there is justice, peace, equality and safety for all.

Philosophy Statement:

The Brewster Center and the services we provide are governed by our steadfast commitment to the utilization of an empowerment model which asserts that each individual is the expert in his or her own situation. Victims/Survivors must be offered a safe, respectful, non-judgmental environment to identify their own needs and make their own decisions. We believe that personal and societal violence is rooted in oppression and in the fundamental power imbalances within our society. We affirm the inherent human right to self-determination, to safety and to a life free from violence.
